CHORAL & HANDBELL GROUPS
For those wishing to step beyond the congregation and offer their musical talents at another level, we offer several choirs. One need not be a member of Christ Church to participate and join our choirs. New members are always welcome!
Parish Choir
The Parish choir sings at the 11:00 am service September through
May. In addition to Sunday morning, the Parish Choir also offers
Choral Evensong, Lessons & Carols, and other Holy Day liturgies
throughout the church year, including Requiem and Passiontide
performances. Although there is a focus on tradition Anglican
repertoire, many of the choral anthems are drawn from diverse
sources including chant, Renaissance motets, spirituals, and 20th
and 21st century music. Music reading ability is not essential but
helpful and recommended. Weekly commitment is not required
but strongly encouraged for this group. New members are
always welcome, including High School students!
Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm in the music room. Parish Choir is currently on summer break and will return Sunday, September 7.

Joyful Voices
The Joyful Voices choir sings at the 8:30 service September through May. Our music is mostly from the contemporary music repertoire with composers such as Marty Haugen. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the Music Room. New choir members are welcome at any time during the year. Reading music is helpful but not necessary for this group. Joyful Voices is currently on summer break and will return Sunday, September 7.

Our new Choristers group is a wonderful choral program geared toward elementary school-age children
that meets September through May. In addition to learning songs, kids practice basic singing technique,
build music reading abilities, and develop ear-training skills that expand their overall knowledge and love
and appreciation of music.
Rehearsals are Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:30 pm in the Music Room. All elementary
school-age kids are welcome, even if they do not attend Christ Church!

Summer Pop-Up Choir
Our Summer Pop-Up Choir is the perfect antidote to the lull of choral singing when the "season" is out
of session. Pop-up choir sings music that is fun and easy to learn for select Sundays at the late service in
the summer (June - August). Choral anthem examples include Marty Haugen's Let My Prayer Rise Up and the popular arrangement of Here I Am, Lord by Jack Schrader. All anthems are sung with the piano. Reading music is not necessary and one need not be a regular member of any choirs to join in for Pop-Up on any of the Sundays when they are singing!
Rehearsals are select Sunday mornings from 9:15 - 9:45 am in the Nave. Check out our publications such as Messenger, The Crown and our MidWeek Messenger email for more information and dates in late spring and summer!
