The Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the NSDAR will unveil and dedicate the Gertrude Sprague Carraway North Carolina Historical Market on May 30. Festivities will commence at 2 pm, at the Stanley White Recreation Center, 601 3rd Avenue, New Bern.

The NC Plein Air Art Festival is proud to present the Annual Youth Plein Air Workshop, a hands-on creative experience introducing young artists to the art of en plein air painting. Two sessions (Kindergarten - 4th grade and 5th grade and up) will take place Saturday, May 16 in the Parish House. Registration is free but full. There are waitlist. The Douglass-Lincoln Debates, a one-act play and discussion event, will take place at 7:30 pm, Saturday, May 16, and 3 pm, Sunday, May 17 at the Rivertowne Players (514 Hancock Street). Adult tickets are $25, and student tickets are $12. Visit www.rivertownplayers.org for more information.
