• Daughters of the American Revolution Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter is sponsoring We the People Constitution Week. An information both will be available from 8 am - 2p m, Saturday, September 12 at the New Bern Farmers Market. There will be exhibits and educational at the NC History Center (529 Tryon Palace) from 11 am - 2 pm on Saturday. At 3 pm, Thursday, September 17, we will celebrate Constitution Day and Bell Ringing  at the Front Gate of Tryon Palace.

• Rivertowne Players Theatre present Boomer Mania at 2 pm, Saturday, September 12, at the RiverTowne Players Theatre. Visit www.rivertowneplayers.org for more information.

• Learn about the Black Patriots from Craven County who fought for American Independence. The Harlowe Patriots Educational Program will take place at 2 pm, Sunday, September13 at Orringer Auditorium at the Craven County Community College Visit www.newbernhistorial.org or call 252.638.8558 for tickets and more information.  

• The New Bern Garden Club will celebrate 100 years of community service with a Centennial Banquet. The event will take place at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at The Flame (2301 Neuse Blvd.) and will feature a live violin and cello duo, dinner and cash bar, and a program highlighting NBGC's projects through the years. Christ Church's Nelson McDaniel will be the guest speaker. Dress is Business Casual, and the cost is $35 per person. Please RSVP by September 4 to Sandra Seale at 603.233.0942.

• Carolina Chamber Music Festival returns to New Bern September 15, 17, and 20. This season's festival features a Midday Music, After Work concert and Sunday Serenade. All events will be held at the Bank of the Arts. Click here for tickets and more information.

• Craven County Fair Housing Resources - Craven County has adopted a Fair Housing Policy which recognizes that public notification is vital towards eliminating discriminatory housing practices. In an effort to keep the community informed, the County has published a Housing Resource Manual.

• New Bern Community Respite Care - Thursdays from 10 am - 2 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church (2311 Elizabeth Ave). Contact person is Lindsay Roberts (lindsayroberts@newbernrespite.org / 919.428.0618)​​​. 

• Seniors Embrace Technology - Digital Navigators can help you sign up for low-cost internet, assist with purchasing a laptop, troubleshoot basic technology issues, and locate an in-person or online digital skills class. Call 252.671.7553 and ask to speak to Cynthia Livingston.

• Caregiver Support Group for End-of-Life Loved Ones - 10:30 am on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at the River Bend Municipal Building (51 Shoreline Drive).

• Mental Wellness Services through Carolina Therapy Connection -- Offering diverse interventions to enhance emotional well-being for children, teenagers, adults, and families. Call 252.341.9944 for more information.

• Faith Connection’s Racial Reconciliation Project believes in addressing racism in a meaningful way that requires intentional focus in making connections with the diversity of our neighbors. We ask traditional “Black” churches to partner with traditional “White” churches to intentionally work together and build relationships. If you feel called to engage people of a different background than your own, please contact Steve Skiffington, Edna Marie Thomas or Mike Williams for more information. 

• Visit the Art House Art Studio and Creative Cafe, a cozy, welcoming place where people can slow down, spend time together, and connect through creativity and art. Located at 507 Pollock Street, Suite 4,  the Creative Cafe offers a menu of self-Guided art experiences, while the Art Studio offers adult classes, as well as classes, camps, and birthday parties for children.
