• Cursillo Weekend -  Pilgrim applications are currently being accepted for the East Carolina #106 Weekend, which will take place November 6-9 at Trinity Center in Pine Knoll Shores. 
  Weekend fee is $300 and includes room and meals. Scholarships are available. The weekend consists of five meditations, 15 talks, a healing service, a Spiritual Advisor on site, and Eucharist, every day. • Annual Sandy Valentine Tea - It's a Par-Tea. You're invited to the Sandy Valentine Tea to benefit My Sister's House from 2 - 4 pm, Saturday, September 6, in the Harrison Center. More information and online registration available at www.triedbyfireinc.org/events 

• The 45th Annual New Bern area CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sunday, September 28. CROP Walk raises funds to address nutritional and development needs of those in our community and around the globe. Locally, Religious Community Services (RCS) will receive 25% of the proceeds. This year, Christ Church is encouraging those who would like to participate in CROP Walk as part of a team to join up with Interfaith Refugee Ministry. Click here to register. 

• Jones County - A Perfect 10 - A fundraiser for the Filling Station will take place from 11 am - 2 pm, Saturday, November 8, at 221 Main Street in Pollocksville. Activities include BBQ lunch, cloggers and music, bake sale, drop-in painting, tractor photo booth, country games, and educational opportunities. • Love Thy Neighbor Community Cookout, presented by Pilgrim Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will be held from 12 - 4 pm, Saturday, September 20. Bring the whole family for a day of free food, fun for all ages, and connection. Pilgrim Chapel Church is located at 313 Elder Street in New Bern.

• Seniors Embrace Technology - Digital Navigators can help you sign up for low-cost internet, assist with purchasing a laptop, troubleshoot basic technology issues, and locate an in-person or online digital skills class. Call 252.671.7553 and ask to speak to Cynthia Livingston.

• Caregiver Support Group for End-of-Life Loved Ones - 10:30 am on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at the River Bend Municipal Building (51 Shoreline Drive).

• Come Again / New Bern Respite Care (www.newbernrespite.org) is having a New Volunteer Training Training from 10 am - 12 pm, Tuesday, September 16 at Trinity UMC Fellowship Hall (2311 Elizabeth Ave.). RSVP to lindsayroberts@newbernrespite.org by September 12.
