EVENTS​​​​​​

  • The NC Plein Air Art Festival is proud to present the Annual Youth Plein Air Workshop, a hands-on creative experience introducing young artists to the art of en plein air painting. Two sessions (Kindergarten - 4th grade and 5th grade and up) will take place Saturday, May 16 in the Parish House. Registration is free and opens April 13.   • New Bern's Heritage Homes Tour will take place from 10 am - 4 pm, May 1 and 2. This self-guided tour gives you the chance to see the interiors of very special homes in the Downtown and Riverside Historic Districts. Tickets range from $18-$22 and can be purchased online, by phone (252.638.8558) or in-person at the Historical Society Office (511 Broad Street). Tickets are also available at Mitchell Hardware and Harris Teeter.

  • Celebrate Earth Day at Martin Marietta Park at 2 pm, Saturday, April 18. This year's theme will be Water: A Precious Resource. 

  • Faith Connection will meet at 4 pm, Thursday, April 16 in the Parish House. Taylor Register from Sound Rivers will speak on Pollution Issues and Protecting the Waterways.

  • The Douglass-Lincoln Debates, a one-act play and discussion event, will take place at 7:30 pm, Saturday, May 16, and 3 pm, Sunday, May 17 at the Rivertowne Players (514 Hancock Street). Adult tickets are $25, and student tickets are $12. Visit www.rivertownplayers.org for more information. 

  • Tried by Fire presents the 5th Annual New Bern Gospel Fest at 6 pm, April 24 and 25, at Temple Church (1500 Kingdom Way). Admission is free but register for tickets at https://triedbyfireinc.org/home.

  • The Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting Treasures at Tea Time 2026. This year's program will take place Saturday, April 18, and will feature Wives of our Founding Fathers. Tickets are $50 and available at The Old Pinnix (628 Hancock Street) and Savi's Wine (713 Pollock Street). Proceeds go to Craven Community College Scholarships.

  • The Rothermel Foundation presents Moral Injury: A Rupture in the Moral Foundations of Human Relations by The Rev. Dr. Nancy J. Ramsay at 2 pm, Sunday April 26. The presentation will take place at First Presbyterian Church, 400 New Street, New Bern and is free. More information at https://www.rothermelfoundation.org/.

  • Arts to End Genocide is presenting the third Global Music Festival from 5 - 8 pm, Friday, April 24, at Union Point Park. The event will feature music, dance, and cuisine from the many cultures of Eastern NC. Visit their website or call 252.670.1339 for more information. 

  • The Amazing Brain Race will take place in downtown New Bern on June 6, 2026. The winning team in this fun physical and mental challenge will win $1,000. For more information go to TheAmazingBrainRace.com. ​

  • Seniors Embrace Technology - Digital Navigators can help you sign up for low-cost internet, assist with purchasing a laptop, troubleshoot basic technology issues, and locate an in-person or online digital skills class. Call 252.671.7553 and ask to speak to Cynthia Livingston.

  • Caregiver Support Group for End-of-Life Loved Ones - 10:30 am on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at the River Bend Municipal Building (51 Shoreline Drive).

  • Mental Wellness Services through Carolina Therapy Connection -- Offering diverse interventions to enhance emotional well-being for children, teenagers, adults, and families. Call 252.341.9944 for more information.
