Ellie joined the staff at Christ Church in 2018 as the Director of Church Life. Growing up in Door County Wisconsin where she earned a degree in Human Development and Education from the University of Wisconsin. In 2015 she moved from Florida to New Bern, North Carolina. She and her husband Ed live in Greenbriar with their two dogs Brie and Cooper. Ellie has had a long career in education, non-profit management, and musical arts. She has been the leader for several non-profit agencies over the past 20 years, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Cerebral Palsy and United Way. She has served on the Board of Directors for various agencies, including: School to Work Partnership, Connection Coalition, Local Coordinating Board for Transportation, and the Bach Ensemble. Ellie served as Choir and Artistic Director for St. John the Evangelist Church in Naples, FL, where she worked for 14 years in the music ministry. Her contributions to the congregation included directing a 65 voice choir, classical concerts, liturgy planning and development of the Music and Arts enrichment programs which included music and art lessons for all ages and a concert series on the St John Campus. Her choir traveled to Europe on several Pilgrimages. Ellie is an opera singer and enjoys giving recitals/concerts for good causes as well as advocating for the arts and education. She has performed with Opera Naples, The Bach Ensemble, Pamiro Opera Company, and the Island Opera Theater. She is currently a member of the Craven Community Chorus.
