FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What times are services?

During the fall, winter and spring, our service times are 8:30 and 11 am. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:45 am. During the summer months, service times are at 8 am and 10 am.

What is acceptable to wear to an Episcopal Church?

There is no strict dress code for Episcopal churches. You can wear anything from your "Sunday best" to more casual attire, although normally people don't come in their athletic shorts and t-shirts. We invite you and your family to dress in whatever way you feel is comfortable and appropriate.

Is it ok to bring our children to church?

The presence of children is a gift to the church, and they are a reminder that our congregation is growing. To the parents of our young children, may we suggest:

  • Relax - God put the wiggle in children. All are welcome.

  • Sit toward the front where it is easier for your little ones to see and hear what's going on .

  • Quietly explain the parts of the service and actions of those serving.

  • Sing the hymns, pray and voice the responses. Children learn liturgical behavior by copying you.

  • If you have to leave the service with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back.

  • Remember the way that we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to the church, to God and to one another.

Please take advantage of our children's activity bags hanging at both the front and rear of the Nave, as well as our nursery services if you wish.

What Pastoral Care resources are available?

Phishing scams are when someone receives an email or text, presumably from clergy or staff at Christ Church. The communications often will "ask a favor" or ask the recipient to purchase some gift cards. These are a scam and should be reported as such. Recently Paul recorded a video explaining how not to fall for phishing scams. You can watch the video here

What is the church's finance policy for returned checks and/or ACH payments?

Bank fees are assessed to Christ Church when there is a failure in an issuer account to cover a check, ACH transaction or credit card transaction. The bank fee for returned checks is $10, the failed ACH is $5. While no fee is assessed on a failed credit card charge, the amount posted cannot be credited to the parishioner's account until the card information is updated. In the event that such fees are incurred, the Finance Coordinator will notify the give of such an occurrence, asking for restitution of the fee and original payment. If no restitution can be made, the amount of the bank fee will be either deducted from a parishioner's pledge if applicable or recorded as a donation not given.
